Bonding

Bonding, for Tooth Repair.

Cavities can be filled with composite (resin). This procedure is generally referred to as “bonding.” Gaps, discolorations, fluorosis (white stains) and other defects can be fixed quickly and efficiently in the dental office by using bonding.

Bonding is a white, plastic-like material, which can be securely attached to your teeth. The objective is to close gaps and fill cavities, as mentioned before.

The photo shown below demonstrates fluorosis stains. Dental fluorosis is a developmental disturbance of dental enamel caused by excessive exposure to high concentrations of fluoride during teeth development. The risk of fluoride overexposure occurs between the ages of 3 months and 8 years.

In this case we opted for a no prep, no injection solution— sandblasting the outer surface of stained teeth and applying dental composite to mask the stain. Subsequent polishing makes the surface as smooth as the natural teeth. Our composites are also BPA free and outperform other brands in longevity, polishability, biocompatibility, and luster.

The final results are amazing. A blue light is used to cure the material instantly. There is no more waiting time, and you can enjoy your teeth right after a bonding is done.
